Except, before every lecture we would be told, "lap-tops down," because as future journalists we were to get used to taking notes with a pen and paper. I never minded, unless I was in an intense convo with a class-mate a few rows behind on MSN or something. The smart kids (not me, lol) were wise enough to get their mac to record the whole lecture...I tried it once, but it wasn't as clear because you'd hear someone whispering eight seats down, and completely over-ride the teacher's lecture.
