Road Rage
Like you, I have had instances behind the wheel where I lose my cool, shout an obscenity, wail on the horn, or share a finger gesture. Some people are distracted, tired, or just plain stupid while they are driving. One thing I haven’t done, however, is get out and bang on someones window. You know what I’m talking about?
What could happen that would make someone so mad they have to roll up on you and bang on your window?
Once while I was in high school, I went to the movies with three of my friends. My buddy, who was behind the wheel, kind of cut someone off. Well, this car started to tailgate us. We sped up and tried to shake him, but he followed us…EVERYWHERE. After about 20 minutes of trying to get him to stop following us, we finally drove back to my friends house. We pulled into the garage, only to have the car behind us pull up as well. The other driver got out, and in my friends garage no less, tried to pull my buddy out of the drivers seat! If he wasn’t wearing his seat belt, I’m sure a beating would have occurred. As it turns out, this guy followed us because he thought we gave him the finger (we didn’t). But he was so pissed, he spent a good chunk of his night following us just to make a point.
Do you know anyone who would take their road rage this far?

I’ll never forget that incident. One thing I know is, if I ever want to take out my frustrations when I am behind the wheel, a high schooler with a new drivers license is an easy target.

Ok so this has totally happened in my life. My husband’s friend was followed all the way to my house by a guy on a motorcycle and yes we are talking a good 1/2 hour drive! All because the motorcycle guy (did I mention he was old!) thought my friend was tailgaiting and cut him off. He arrives at our house yelling and swearing at my friend. My hubby goes out to try to calm him down and figure this mess out. After telling him to get off our property he speeds away giving us the “finger gesture”. We thought that was the end. Nope! Later that night the POLICE show up at our home and tell my husband that the the man on the motorcycle was pressing charges against him b/c he threatened his life! Now my husband was NOT even the reason all this was started! Nor did he make any threats, just told the guy to get off our property! Long story short…we had to go to court where my husband had to put ME on the stand and question ME on the days events, along with our friend. Of course the judge knew it was bogus and sided with us..but all that crap we had to go through b/c some old guy on a bike was having a power trip! And these are the days of our lives….

One time when I was coming home from a Snappers Teen night (seriously) I was in my Talon thinking I was hot ish…and blew past some D bag in a K-car. D bag was roided up, at the stop light on Vintage in Greece he got out, and kicked my car and left a dent. Thing he didn’t know my boys were in the car behind him, and got D bags plate….cops went to his house and he paid for my car…..roided up D bag.

Toronto is horrible for that, and my friend Anna who lives there can relate. NO one sits at a green light because rush hour is horrid….and Anna who has been caught up in it has at times stepped out of her car and kicked the bumper of the person in front of her. She has also launched things out of her car like pens, pencils, etc. I suppose it is better than ramming your car into the person’s bumper…

So this happened to me 2 weeks ago! I was driving back from the bank to work on my lunch. The car ahead of me apparently was having a bad day because when I pulled into the parking lot, the guy followed me to a parking space, parked his car, got out and started hitting and kicking my car. Now I have a dent in the drivers door and several scratches, chips in my paint. Not very happy since I just bought it less than 3 months ago! I never cut the guy off, wasn’t tail gating and weird part is… he never once said a word….just beat the crap out of my car. Now I have to claim it on my insurance as vandelisim. Monroe County Sheriffs didnt even wanna do a report until I said I would be speaking with a family friend, who happens to be a judge. Yupp pretty scary. I think how the man reacted was worse than a 1 year old who can not sleep at night. Nice to know people can act and behave like that and nothing happens to them. Pretty much its “clown shoes”

That sucks. Really. To show my sympathy, I have re-filed this blog under Clownshoes. Just for you.

This happened to me. It was 4th of July in Penfield. And if you’ve ever gone to Penfield for fireworks you know it is hell getting out of the Target parking lot. So I was trying to back up and this guy would not let me in. So I started slowly inching out as if to say let me in or I’ll bust up your car. Now mind you my boyfriend was in the passenger seat, and my sister who was then about 13 and her friend were in my vehicle. I turned around and yelled out the window “come on dude seriously!” The next thing I see is this guy’s little princess girlfriend right next to my window asking me to get out of the car and say it to her face. So I went off on her and she started to touch my car so I opened the door quick and shut it. Yea I hit her with the door but you don’t touch my 99 Prizm. haha. Needless to say she left with her boyfriend yelling at her to get back in the car and how embarrasing she was. My sister never forgot that moment and is now getting ready to drive and scared like hell. haha
