You know, I don’t think I will ever try to brave the sea of people who get up early to try and get the best deals. You can have them. You’re nuts.
Not me. I’ll be avoiding lines, hassels, and limited selection by doing the majority of my Christmas shopping online. Oh, and on company time, of course. Har, Har.
Have a great weekend!

The spending freeze in our house has been well documented to this point. Sandy has put a freeze on our spending and I have eliminated some extra things I have spent money on in the past.
But, I have to tell you. I’m stressed out of my mind.
I don’t know when/how to spend money anymore. Not with out her prior approval anyways. Do you know how good it felt to eat at The Marketplace Mall Food Court and buy a video game for myself on Friday? Sadly, there are more important things that need our financial attention right now. These are the items that have me stressed going into the holiday where we are supposed to give thanks.
- Sandy needs a car. This is the big one. She knows how much she wants to spend, but can’t decide on what to get for the money. It is my hope, and I stress hope, that once she’s purchased her car and is happy with it, we can relax our spending freeze to some degree.
- Our treadmill is busted. It needs a part that runs over a hundy. I use that treadmill. A lot. I feel awful when I can’t run. I haven’t been able to run at home. Hence, I am generally miserable.
- Our surround sound receiver in our family room is short one channel. This is not a huge necessity, but it’s driving me crazy. It sounds awful. And, everyone will be over on Thursday hearing how awful it sounds. I’m not happy about this.
- My buddies have asked me to go to the Bills game on Sunday. I’m actually scared to ask Sandy if I can go, because I may have to take out a loan to buy a beer at The Ralph.
- Sandy’s cousin is coming to NYC from Europe next month. She should go, but doesn’t want to spend the money to travel. I think that’s crazy. I would spend money to travel to see my favorite band, but she won’t spend money to visit a blood relative?
Oh, and I’m cooking the feast on Thursday. Turkey, corn bread stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, homemade gravy, and don’t forget the lasagna. Anyone have a sedative?

I woke up from a dream this morning that, for the life of me, I can’t figure out. It was one of those dreams where, looking back, I probably should have just stayed in bed to think about it awhile.
I was eating Circus Peanuts (not peanuts from the circus, the delicious orange marshmallow treat) with “Brody” from Seinfeld.
Who’s Brody from Seinfeld? He’s such a random character, I can’t find a listing of him anywhere on line. Brody was Kramer’s friend who bootlegged movies. He brought in his own camera and shot whatever movie was playing on the big screen, only to sell the bootlegs on the street. Remember him? I won’t think any less of you if you don’t.
The only connection I can make is that Brody brought a feed bag of candy into the theater and ate so much he made himself sick. Hence, he would probably enjoy eating Circus Peanuts with a total stranger, mainly, me.
Anyone care to try and analyze THAT for me?

It’s been a long week. Rather than trying to be funny, relatable, cute, or combative, I’ve decided instead to post a picture of a seriously kinky elephant.

Have a great weekend!

I don’t want to brag, but I’m going to anyway.
Sandy and I just got back from Leah’s first pre-K parent-teacher conference. My little one dunked it!

Great scores. Amazing comprehension. Simply put, she’s ahead of the curve. Stay down, other parents!

Brandy stopped by the studios of 98 PXY today.

Moose is a big fan. So much so, that he wrote a new version of her song “Departed.”

Give it a listen. Personally, I think it’s gold!

This huge backyard rink is in Sylvan Lake Alberta, west of Red Deer. Its the creation of Shane Cyrenne, originally from Pontiex, south of Swift Current, and his neighbor Chris McNeil. 9000 gallons of water was used to make the rink, and 70 hours in the shop to build the mini-Zamboni.

Growing up in Minnesota, hockey is life. I played for 8 years as a kid. Now, I play when the opportunity presents itself. Usually, that means I’ll skate in a charity game. We had one on Saturday night in Webster. PXY’s Blake Stryker, and J-Rod along with Pat the Producer from The Buzz all skated as well. Our opponent? The Rochester Amerks Alumni. Egad, these guys skate circles around us. But, if that wasn’t bad enough, their KIDS skate circles around us.

I’m the 3rd in from the right. See that little guy next to me? Yeah, he’s better than all of us. But on Saturday, he went down!
There was less than a minute left in the game, and he went to skate around me towards goal. So, I did what any mature man playing against a 10 year old would do.
I tripped him.
Don’t judge! He had it coming!
